FEBA’s journey on Data Collection and Digital Transformation continues. On 21 June 2021 took place the kick-off meeting of Year 2 of the project “Quantifying the impact of European Food Banks – from Farm to Fork” in virtual mode.
More than 40 participants from 18 FEBA members participated. FEBA external experts leading the project presented the main results of Year 1 (watch the video here) and the next milestones and steps for the second year of the project.
A System Status and Impact Report of the FEBA Online Observatory on Food Donation were presented highlighting the results achieved, the lessons learned and the necessary implementation for Year 2. In fact, the milestones for the second year of the project are:
1) Stabilizing the use of the Observatory on Food Donation by the members of the current Pilot Group, with adjustments if and when needed
2) Increasing the number of members taking part in the online Observatory on Food Donation
3) Increasing the number of indicators and KPIs which are monitored and measured
In addition, FEBA will work with its membership to monitor the implementation of Art 20(1)(d) of the proposal for a Regulation on the ESF+.
Finally, since the UN General Assembly adopted resolutions designating 2021 as the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables, the activity will also focus on KPIs dealing with the recovery and redistribution of these typologies of food.
Stay tuned in the next months to follow the project’s development!
