The skill-sharing session “Donation Cycle: from planning to reporting” was organized by the European Food Banks Federation on 12 April 2021 and took place virtually.
38 Food Bank representatives from 17 countries (Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, UK, Ukraine) registered to the session.
The first part of the session was built on the experience of some corporate partners; the Food Bankers, indeed, had the pleasure to hear the words of Amie Kegler, Impact Lead, Global Engagement in Food Recovery at General Mills Foundation, Bruce Learner, Senior CSR and Partnership Manager at Kellogg Europe and Cristina Aspesi, Head of Charity Fund, Chairman’s Technical Secretariat at Intesa Sanpaolo explaining the donation cycle from different perspectives.
Through three rounds of questions, the experts answered doubts about the motivations behind the donations to non-profit organizations as well as about the expectations about the reporting process. Thanks to their point of view, the participants had the opportunity to better understand the activities behind the activities of measuring and reporting.
After listening to the corporate partners, the second part was devoted to an internal session in which FEBA and Food Bank representatives worked together on the donation cycle, from the first contact with a supporter till the end of the reporting process.
Identifying positive aspects and areas for improvement, the goal was to strengthen the process and improve the results for the whole network.
