The third Sodexo’s action “(Dé)pensez local” took place between 25 January and 13 February in Belgium. For each payment made with the Sodexo Card in a convenience store, Sodexo gave 2 cents to the Belgian Food Banks. With this action, Sodexo intended to both help merchants who contribute to the quality of life in our neighborhoods, and support the most disadvantaged.
The action “(Dé)pensez local” has already taken place twice.And each time, payments with the Sodexo Card in small businesses have increased by more than 15%.This year, 5.882,38€ were collected, the equivalent of 2.941 meals!
“It sounds obvious, the requests for help from poor people with whom we are confronted keep increasing. […] Today, in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, that demand is even greater. Thanks to Sodexo’s help, Food Banks will be able to help more people in need” said Jozef Mottar, Managing Director of the Belgian Federation of Food Banks.
