Her Majesty Queen Máxima has made a visit to the Food Bank in Delft on 19 May. The visit took place in the context of the coronavirus outbreak.
Queen Máxima was given an elaborate guided tour of Chairman Peter Vogelaar who explained the work of the Food Bank. After that, the Queen started a conversation with a number of volunteers.
The Queen was informed about the consequences of the corona outbreak for the Food Bank on short and (medium) long term. Among other things, they discussed about the expected increase in the number of beneficiaries and the importance of volunteers for the Food Bank.
Queen Máxima turned out to be very knowledgeable about the role and position of the Food Bank and expressed her great appreciation for the work and commitment of the volunteers, especially in this time of crisis.
