The European Food Banks Federation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to alleviating food poverty and food waste across Europe. As a network of food banks, we work collaboratively with our members to ensure that surplus food reaches those in need, contributing to the fight against hunger and promoting sustainable solutions to reduce food waste.
We are poised for significant growth and are seeking a communications manager to help us take advantage of the many opportunities ahead of us. This individual will be tasked with increasing awareness of, and engagement in, FEBA’s mission among key stakeholders, enhancing our reputation across Europe and contributing to a sustainable impact for the communities we support.
This is a new role within a recently established department. We are looking for a good all- rounder who can take the communications strategy and make it their own. The communications manager will have lots of autonomy while also being part of a supportive team environment, and there are lots of opportunities for growth and professional development – making this an excellent choice for someone looking to take their career to the next level.

Location: Brussels, based at FEBA’s head office
Contract period: Full-time permanent contract
Reporting to: The chief executive
Salary: €42.000 pa

Essential requirements:
- Proven experience and results in communications or related fields
- Demonstrable ability to implement successful strategies
- Working knowledge of digital and social media management, media relations, content creation and storytelling, and other relevant communications tools
- Experience of working with a diverse group of stakeholders including senior leaders, policymakers and volunteers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
- A willingness to travel to meet FEBA members and stakeholders across Europe
Desirable requirements:
- Bachelor degree or appropriate professional training in communications, marketing, fundraising or other relevant area
- Experience of working within non-profit/ humanitarian/membership organisations
- Knowledge of additional European languages, such as French and Spanish
