Crédito y Caución has awarded its Insurance Solidarity Award 2022 to the Federación Española de Bancos de Alimentaos (FESBAL). The distinction has an extraordinary nature: for the 9th consecutive year, the credit insurer recognises the work of the same organisation. The award, which will be used to strengthen the direct purchase of basic foodstuffs that are difficult to obtain as surplus, was presented by the Director General of the Foundation Jesús Serra, Ignacio Gallardo-Bravo, to the Director of FESBAL, Francisco Greciano.
The award-winning project, alimentalacadena.es, was born after the celebration of the Premios Solidarios del Seguro (Insurance Solidarity Awards) promoted by Inese in 2014. That year, the credit insurer decided to give its award to FESBAL in recognition of its work to alleviate the social effects of the previous economic crisis. After receiving it, FESBAL asked Crédito y Caución to build a solid and lasting relationship over time. The result was the setting up of a group of micro-donors – one euro a month – in which all the companies of the Catalana Occidente Group now participate to support the work of the 54 Food Banks associated with the Federation. The amount collected each year is doubled by the Jesús Serra Foundation.
The project does not have a defined duration and thanks to this, alimentalacadena.es is one more contribution to the enormous effort faced by the Food Banks in the wake of the pandemic.
