The Food Bank Greece has developed and implemented a project to save fresh surplus fruit and vegetables from the Athens Central Grocery Market every week. The surplus food is transported to the facility of the Food Bank where the counting and sorting process begins. With this recovered surplus food, the Food Bank Greece can provide nutritious fruit and vegetables to soup kitchens, homeless people, and refugees in Athens.
