The Food Banks Chair (CBA Cátedra Bancos de Alimentos) of the Madrid Polytechnic University (UPM) has been carrying out the CBA-FESBAL drawing contest nationwide since the 2014-15 academic year. Through the contest, the rational use of food is encouraged among the youngest with the aim of helping to reduce food waste.
One of the activities of the Chair is the CORAL Program, created in 2014 to raise awareness about the Rational Consumption of Food, and whose development is carried out by this drawing contest with the slogan “Against hunger and waste”, aimed to students of 3rd to 6th grade of primary school, aged between 7 and 11 years, from schools throughout Spain.
The CBA-FESBAL drawing contest has a national recognition by being part of the “Golden Spike Awards” gala organized by FESBAL and where companies are awarded for their solidarity work, while children are awarded in the drawing contest for their contribution to this noble cause. This year’s winners will be announced in June 2022.
