On 5-7 May in Suceava (Romania), Federația Băncilor pentru Alimente din România (FBAR), FEBA Member in Romania, organized its annual meeting with the participation of the 9 Regional Food Banks from Bucharest, Brasov, Constanta, Craiova, Cluj, Galati, Oradea, Roman, and Timisoara.
Angela Frigo, FEBA Secretary General, was invited to attend the meeting and share updates on topics such as FEBA priorities for 2023 and current activities, for instance, the project “Quantifying the Impact of European Food Banks. From Farm to Fork”.
For FBAR the meeting was an important opportunity to present the results achieved in 2022, a year which was characterized by many challenges but also several opportunities to grow and become stronger as a network of Food Banks in Romania.
Participants shared thoughts on the vision, mission, and values of Food Banks, identifying bold goals for the future and exchanging knowledge and experience on several topics – from digital transformation and data collection to food safety procedures and reporting to donors.
These two days were also an essential occasion to share knowledge and experience with colleagues and friends from Banca de Alimente Moldova, Banco Alimentare, and Bring The Food, showing the importance of belonging to a European network.
A meeting with people full of energy and passion who are willing to save more food from becoming food waste to redistribute it to charitable organisations helping people in need.
