Summary
The European Food Banks Federation (FEBA) is dedicated to supporting Food Banks across 30 European countries in their mission to alleviate hunger and reduce food waste. As a leading NGO in Belgium and Europe, FEBA strives to create sustainable partnerships and mobilise resources that empower FEBA Members to deliver impactful results.
As a Fundraising & Partnerships Trainee, you will play a vital role in FEBA’s mission to combat hunger and food insecurity. By engaging donors, helping the team to secure funding, and championing the organization’s cause, you will help our members bring hope & much needed resources to vulnerable communities across Europe. This position offers an inspiring opportunity for students or recent graduates who are passionate about making a difference, promoting social change, and fostering community development.

Responsibilities
- Assist in researching potential donors, partners, and grant opportunities.
- Conduct background research on industry trends and donor interests to assist in creating customized proposals.
- Help with the creation and distribution of donation letters and agreements to our members.
- Track donations and ensure timely reporting back to donors.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in data entry related to donations and fundraising activities.
- Support the team with our donor recognition program including donation certificates, thank you letters, and supporting the coordination of volunteer engagements.
- Assist with email outreach to collect necessary information from donors, partners, and members to support proposal creation.
- Draft and send communications related to fundraising activities, updates, and project needs.
- Provide assistance in organizing and executing special fundraising events and initiatives.
- Assist with developing content for the FEBA newsletter, fundraising materials, donor updates, and social media posts as needed.
- Support the team with various ad hoc tasks to ensure the smooth operation of fundraising efforts.
- Provide general office support, including organizing meetings and taking notes during team and partner discussions.
Profile
- University degree or relevant academic background, preferably in the fields of Business, Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related disciplines).
- No enrolment in university needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Interest in non-profit work, fundraising, and social impact.
- Strong research skills and ability to analyze data to support fundraising efforts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in administration, research, or nonprofit work is a plus but not required.
- Previous internships, volunteer experiences, or coursework related to fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit management.
- Experience using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools or similar software is a plus.
Additional Requirement
Candidates must be entitled to work in Belgium and ideally should be based in Brussels.
