At the Salon International de l’Agriculture (SIA 2025), Les Banques Alimentaires highlighted the importance of food access for everyone. Under the theme “Bien se nourrir, pour tous et partout”, they showcased solidarity at every step of the food chain.
Key moments included two major conferences:
- 24 February: “Who Benefits from Food Aid?” exploring socio-economic situations, health, and food access.
- 26 February: “Access to Food in Europe” co-organised with Confrontations Europe, focusing on EU support and strengthening food sovereignty.
In addition, Les Banques Alimentaires shared the results of their biennial study “Profils 2025”, which examines the evolving profiles and needs of those receiving food aid. The findings revealed:
- A lasting inflation crisis, with 1/3 of respondents feeling the direct impact of rising prices, especially in overseas and rural areas.
- Increasingly diverse profiles, with a significant rise in the number of working poor.
- Food aid as more than a solution to hunger, with 75% of beneficiaries reporting it helps them maintain a more balanced diet.
Throughout the week, Les Banques Alimentaires engaged in various activities, including workshops, awards for exemplary solidarity projects, and meetings with key agricultural partners. They also supported efforts against food waste by collecting goods from the event exhibitors in partnership with COMEXPOSIUM.
