FEBA has recently visited its member in Norway: Matsentralen Norge operates a network of eight food banks across the country, collaborating with over 500 charitable organizations. Last year, they redistributed 6,100 tonnes of food, aiding around 200,000 people in need. Beyond just distributing surplus food, they also prepare meals from these supplies, ensuring nutritious and ready-to-eat options for recipients. Additionally, Matsentralen Norge hosts educational sessions for school classes, raising awareness about food waste and sustainability. Through the dedication of volunteers, donors, and partner organizations, Matsentralen Norge turns surplus into sustenance, providing a vital service to communities and fostering a culture of responsibility and compassion.
