Henk Staghouwer will become the new chairman of Voedselbanken Nederland as of January 1, 2024. The Food Banks are happy with this worthy successor to Leo Wijnbelt, who is handing over after 15 years of service. Henk Staghouwer brings 30 years of experience in business and 10 in public administration. He is very motivated to take on the chairmanship: “I think it is a wonderful opportunity to use my experience and network for those in our society who are not so fortunate. Sometimes simply and simply because of the place where their cradle was or due to all kinds of other unfortunate circumstances. In our rich Netherlands, many hundreds of thousands of people live below the poverty line. How is this possible! In fact, it is incomprehensible that a Food Bank is even needed in the Netherlands. But now that it is there, I would like to give my time and energy to it. With the hope and impossible wish to one day be able to say: a Food Bank is no longer necessary in the Netherlands.”
