On 23 July, 13 August and 3 September 2023, Costa Crociere Cruises docked in the port of Tallinn. For the first time the collaboration took place in Estonia, where the FEBA Member Toidupank recovered nutritious surplus food from a ship of the Costa fleet and shared with Männiku Socialhouse, a local charitable organisation assisting people affected by poverty.
A long-lasting partnership between FEBA and Costa Crociere made this surplus recoveries possible, which will be continued next year. It is a good example for many stakeholders in Estonia because, in 2023, Tallinn carries the title of Green Capital of Europe and the prevention of food waste is a priority.
