This past weekend, some 150 Sciences Po Bordeaux University students hitchhiked to Budapest to raise charitable donations to support the Hungarian Food Bank Association. The charity action is the dreamchild of the student organization Eurofeel. The race started at 6 a.m. Friday (April 14) from the main square of Bordeaux. Participants completed the trip without spending money on transportation: they were not allowed to use their own or rented vehicles nor to travel on public transport. In the days before the trip, the students have been seeking sponsorship to support the work of the Hungarian Food Bank Association. The Food Bank and Eurofeel celebrated the students with a welcome event and prize-giving ceremony at the Auditorium hall of the French Institute Budapest on Sunday (April 16) evening, at which the students delivered around EUR 13,245 they raised through the campaign. Ambassador of France to Hungary, Ms. Claire Legras also participated at the event, as well as representatives of the European Federation of Food Banks (FEBA), and delegates of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
