In 2020, FEBA initiated the project “Quantifying the Impact of European Food Banks – From Farm to Fork” aiming to implement an efficient method for data collection and analysis by strengthening the capability of FEBA and its members. In light of this, the online Observatory on Food Donation was launched.
On 20 February 2023, YEAR-3 of the project kicked off with an online meeting bringing together 37 participants, among them representatives from 24 FEBA Members. Besides taking stock of the achievements made so far, key activities planned to be conducted during the course of the year have been outlined. Further developing the project taking into account the recommendations made by its members, FEBA has identified two macro objectives:
Improvement of collection, analysis, and dissemination of data on the activities of FEBA Members; and
Enabling the use of the online Observatory on Food Donation at the regional/local level.
Pursuing these objectives, the project will follow an agile management approach coined by the regular involvement and exchange with FEBA Members to gather feedback and track the progress. Moreover, a new version of the online platform has been specifically developed to facilitate the data collection process and was presented during the meeting.
