On 14 November 2022, the European Food Banks Federation organised its Annual Forum on Food Aid and Social Inclusion on the topic of “Strengthening food systems by supporting the resilience and capacity of Food Banks” in collaboration with Federația Băncilor pentru Alimente din România.
The conference brought together distinguished speakers addressing the topic from different perspectives. The report summarises the key take-aways of the event, among others experiences shared by FEBA Members from Belgium, Czech Republic, France, and Estonia on the implementation of EU funding programmes in connection to food banking. Moreover, it outlines the highlights of the presentations held by FEBA Members from Moldova and Romania on their activities as well as insights on upcoming food waste prevention laws in these countries. Finally, it covers examples of the collaboration between the private sector and charitable organisations with the Food Banks in Romania for the benefit of the most deprived.
