The Spanish Food Banks estimate that during the pandemic demand has increased by 50% compared to the same dates in the previous year. In order to face this challenge, many companies decided to help the Food Banks, just like CaixaBank.
The solidarity action “Ningún Hogar Sin Alimentos” (“No home without food”), promoted by the La Caixa Foundation, with the operational support of CaixaBank, closes with a total of 3.3 million euros raised for the benefit of the Spanish Food Banks.
With this amount, 3,600 tons of basic food have been obtained and have been distributed among the 54 Food Banks associated with the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL).
In response to the good reception of the campaign and the pressing need, the La Caixa Foundation decided to contribute an additional million euros to the initiative.
