Tafel Germany launches social media campaign for the International Weeks Against Racism

For the seventh consecutive year, Tafel Germany is supporting the International Weeks Against Racism, taking place from March 15th to March 28th, 2021. In light of the pandemic financially affecting people from all kinds of backgrounds, the organization stresses the importance of helping people in need – regardless of their faith, gender, ethnicity, sexuality or cultural identity.

To raise awareness of discrimination and the need for social justice, Tafel Germany launched a social media campaign asking volunteers to share their experiences with other cultures, their motivation to show solidarity and their demands for a just future.

The campaign was led by Jochen Brühl, Chairman of Tafel Deutschland e.V. and board member of FEBA, with the message “Standing against racism, so every human stands the same chances!”. Tafel volunteers from all over Germany participated with statements of their own, showing support for a diverse and fair society and encouraging others to end hate and intolerance.

The International Weeks Against Racism are annually set around the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, implemented by the United Nations to commemorate the brutal murder of 69 anti-apartheid demonstrators in Sharpeville, South Africa, in 1960.
