In March 2021 the Federation of Polish Food Banks, associating 31 local Food Banks, in cooperation with Matsentralen Norge launched the new project: “Fields of activities – support of NGO rescuing the food” (EEA and Norway Grants).
The aim of the project is to support 3,000 partner organizations (delivering food directly to those who live in poverty) – providing know-how and tools to increase their efficiency.
The Federation plans to establish a knowledge platform, including videos, and in the nearest future to share experience with their partners during study visits. Part of the responsibility of the Federation is also to evaluate Act on Counteracting Food Waste in Poland in order to check how large grocery stores deal with unsold products that the Food Banks distribute.
