Cibus and MacFrut 2022 – 21 tonnes of food saved from waste by Banco Alimentare
19 tonnes of food were recovered by Banco Alimentare at the end of Cibus, the International Fair of Made in Italy agri-food, which took place in Parma from 3 to 6 May 2022.
For the fourth consecutive year, the partnership between Banco Alimentare and Fiere di Parma has been renewed to carry out the Cibus Food Saving initiative: 150 companies have chosen to join and donate surplus food.
In this way, food still in perfect condition has been saved from waste and will be redistributed to some of the 742 charitable organisations affiliated with the Food Bank of Emilia-Romagna, which supports around 125,000 people in need.
